General Board of Higher Education and Ministry
The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry leads
The United Methodist Church in the recruitment, preparation, nurturing, education, and support of Christian leaders – lay and clergy – for the mission of Christ in the world.
A new generation of Christian leaders who commit to Jesus Christ and are characterized by intellectual excellence, moral and spiritual courage, and holiness of heart and life.
The United Methodist Church created the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry. It operates on behalf of the United Methodist Church to prepare and assist those who are called into professional ministry and to provide access to church-related higher education to all who desire it. The chief administrative officer is the general secretary. The board oversees the United Methodist institutions of higher education.

Trinity United Methodist Church: Higher Education and Campus Ministry
To promote support for higher education from the general congregation and to recruit our students to apply for scholarships at the church level, as well as, at the national level; to plan and execute ways in which we can provide the finances for our yearly scholarships; to nurture and support our students, especially those who are already enrolled in college; and to continue to set in place plans to ensure their continued spiritual growth.
As a church family, we want our students to not only know that it is possible to go to college and beyond, but that it is possible to acquire funding for their education. We want to help guide them in their search for scholarship and grant opportunities available to them. Our hope is that they become educated young adults who will pursue their dreams for success; live a life with integrity as they reflect the values common with church doctrine; and as Christian leaders, give back to their church and to their community.
